Mesmerizingly engaging and peaceful, a walk along this one-mile trail is best done slowly, catching the shadows playing with the colors, as the Sun makes its way to the horizon ... Petrified Forest National Park has a wide range of positive environments. Which one energizes me more? It is impossible, for me, to pick a favorite. The wide expanse of landscape stretching for miles, the amazing collection of petrified logs with their rainbows of color, the fossil records deposited in layers of rock, and here at Blue Mesa, the time-stamped, time-stopping layers in these hills of color ... is it not magical ...
