63. Yellowstone National Park, Lower Falls

Yellowstone has a great deal of water flowing through it. It seems everywhere we drive or hike, there is a river or stream adjacent to the road or trail. The Yellowstone River flows through the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. It passes over several waterfalls, the most prominant being the Upper Falls and Lower Falls. The video above was taken from the top of the Lower Falls. There is a 309' drop to the bottom, where the river continues to flow down the canyon. The canyon runs for about 24 miles.


There are trails along both the North Rim and South Rim. The coloring in the cliffsides is amazing natural artistry. I shared photos of the canyon walls in two other posts this week. I'll include some more below.
